ROME, Ga. - The Piedmont men's golf B Team concluded its fall season on a strong note, jumping two spots to finish fifth at the Chick-fil-A Invitational in Rome, Georgia.
The Lions fired a 307 team score in Monday's first round and bettered that score by four strokes, closing out the event with a 303.
Newcomer
ADAM ROGERS led the Lions in the event, finishing T-11th out of 94 golfers. Rogers opened the event with a solid 1-over 73 on Monday before finishing with a 3-over 75 Tuesday.
Fellow newcomer
KAYDEN WHITE paced Piedmont in the final round, posting a 3-over 75 after delivering a 5-over 77 on Monday.
RYAN COLWELLÂ was consistent with back-to-back rounds of 77. His final round included a team-best four birdies with three coming on the back nine.
CONNOR HIXSON stepped up in the final round, improving his score by four shots from Monday with a 4-over 76 and a pair of birdies.
Sophomore
CAMERON LUCAS delivered the lone eagle for the Lions in the tournament, coming in the first round on his way to an 81.Â
In finishing fifth in the event, the Lions bested the A squads for conference foes LaGrange, Maryville, Belhaven and Covenant.
Centre took home the team title by one stroke over Emory's B Team at 10-over par while Emory's Prayaag Oruganti claimed the individual title by four, finishing at 5-under for the tournament.
The event marks the final of the fall for Piedmont golf.
