ROME, Ga. - The Piedmont men's golf B Team concluded its 2021 fall season on Tuesday with the final round of the Chick-fil-A Invitational, held at Stonebridge Golf in Rome, Georgia.
Junior
CONNOR HIXSON led the way for Piedmont on day two, vaulting into the top 10 on the leaderboard thanks to a 2-under 70. Hixson carded three birdies and made just one bogey on his way to a career-best score as a member of the Lions.
Hixson's solid day helped the Lions hold steady in eight place on the team leaderboard, the same place they found themselves at the end of Round One.
Piedmont's team score of 306 brought its 36-hole finishing total to 27-over par, ahead of the varsity teams of USA South foes LaGrange (+32) and Covenant (+51).
Along with Hixson,
CONNOR LANE also improved his score in the second round, making three birdies on his way to a 78.
MATTHEW ARIZA fell back with a 6-over 78 on day two after firing a 2-under round Monday while
MARIO PEREZCASSAR III brought home the final counting score with an 8-over 80.
WYATT JONES' 84 did not count toward Piedmont's team score while
CAMERON LUCAS (85) and
RYAN COLWELL (90) competed as individuals.
The event concludes Piedmont's fall 2021 season.
Emory's B Team took home the team trophy with a 5-under total score while the Eagles' Jackson Klutznick was the individual medalist after a 2-under 70 in the final round.
