AUSTIN, Texas – Piedmont College women's cross country and track and field athlete
ANALEE BRADACH was named a Second Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday afternoon.
Â
This marks the first time a women's cross country and track and field athlete has been named an Academic All-American.
Â
Bradach's honor is the second for Piedmont athletics this academic year as women's soccer player Devin Haupt earned the honor in December.
Â
The Auburn, Georgia native competed all four years on both the cross country and track and field teams at Piedmont. Bradach earned All-Conference honors all four seasons in cross country.
Â
On the track side, she earned three different All-USA South honors in 2019, the only year of competition for her within the league.
Â
Bradach finished in the top five for Piedmont in all seven cross country races in 2019 and set the fourth fastest time in school history in the NCAA Regional (24:30.2). She also set career-best times in the indoor mile and outdoor 3k steeple in her senior track and field campaign.
Â
An exercise science major, she was named to the All-USA South Academic Team four times.
Â
Bradach becomes the 15th CoSIDA Academic All-American selection in Piedmont history.
Â
To be nominated, a student athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale), have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.Â
