Track & Field Teams Compete in Regular Season Finale at Berry Field Day

Location: Mt. Berry, Georgia - Berry College

Mt. Berry, GA - The Piedmont College track and field teams traveled to Berry for the second time this outdoor season for the Berry Field Day Invitational Friday and Saturday in the regular season finale. JULIA GRAHAM set three school records in the women's 100m, 200m and 400m hurdles coming in second overall in the 400m hurdles. 

Graham ran a 12.87 in the 100m dash coming in ninth overall edging out a fellow freshman from Montevallo 12.862 to 12.869. Graham's best finish came in the 400 hurdles coming in second overall with a time of 1:04.49 finishing ahead of a pair of Emory sophomores to earn eight points. Her final event was the 200m dash where she set the school record with a time of 26.82.

ANALEE BRADACH improved on her 800m record as well as she ran a 2:27.84 coming in 14th of 43 competitors. BROOKE HARDEGREE also set the school record in the triple jump with a mark of 10.46m coming in ninth overall.

Both ANDREW GALE and CODY PARKER ran faster than the previous 10,000m school record as Parker broke his own record running a 34:22.44 while Gale ran a 34:28.99 on Friday night. Also on Friday, KILLIAN MCCLAIN set the school record in the hammer throw recording a 31.59m to earn fifth overall and score four points. 

Also for the men, ESTEBAN SALAZAR set the men's 400m dash record at 50.30 coming in sixth overall as that mark was the first time the 400m record has been broken in 2017. 

ALVIN JACOBS is still ranked in the top 35 in the country in the men's 800 while KYLE RAY is 28th in the nation and first in the South/Southeast Region.

Standout Performances
--JULIA GRAHAM set three school records at the meet including coming in second overall in the women's 400m hurdles. 
--Graham is ranked 24th in the country and first in the region in the 400m hurdles following this weekend's performance. 

Inside the Results
--The men's team came in eighth overall at the meet with 38 points beating Oglethorpe, Covenant, and Birmingham-Southern while the women's team came in tied for 14th thanks to Graham's eight points. 

News & Notes
--This marked the final regular season competition of 2017 with championship season on the horizon. 

Up Next
--The Lions are preparing for the Atlantic Independent Championships on April 20 in Fayetteville, N.C.
