Pine Mountain, GA - The Piedmont College men's golf team was in action at the Callaway Gardens Collegiate Invitational hosted by Berry College where they sit tied for 14th with Birmingham Southern.
In a field of 102 golfers with 14 nationally ranked teams spread throughout, it was Piedmont's
JAKE FORBES who set the pace for the Lions shooting a team low of 78 putting him tied for 42nd. The senior golfer posted a pair of birdies on the front nine, two of PC's seven birdies on the day.
GRIFFIN KERN and
NICK SCOTT each posted a 79 on day one of competition placing them tied for 51st. Kern was the only one of Piedmont's golfers to shoot multiple birdies on the back nine.
The Lions currently sit tied for 14th with Birmingham Southern who is 35th in the nation in Division III.
