Lookout Mountain, GA - The Piedmont College men's tennis team took care of business on the road in USA South action earlier Saturday with a 7-2 win over Covenant College up on the mountain. 

The Lions used a 2-1 lead after doubles to take the advantage into singles play where PC won five of six decisions over the Scots.  

Piedmont picked up wins in doubles play at the #2 and #3 spots while earning wins at all but #1 singles.  The clinching decision came at #4 singles where BRENT JENKINS won in straight sets to hand Piedmont its fourth conference win of the season.

The Lions take down the Scots for a sixth straight time in the series evening up their 2016 overall record at now 7-7.  The 4-3 league record has PC in the top five now with three conference matches to go beginning with Greensboro on Sunday at Bergin.  

Turning Point
--BRENT JENKINS' 6-1, 6-1 win at the #4 singles spot was the clinching decision in the 7-2 victory for Piedmont on the road.  

Standout Performances
--MATTHEW METZGER won his ninth singles decision of the season earlier Saturday with a straight sets win over Chris Cox of Covenant.

Inside the Box Score
--All five of Piedmont's singles decisions came in straight sets on the afternoon.

News & Notes
--The Lions move to a perfect 6-0 against the Scots of Covenant in the last six meetings between the two since 2012.
