Fayetteville, NC - For the second time in as many days, Piedmont College faced one of the top teams in the USA South in men's tennis action with the Lions dropping a 9-0 decision to the hosting Monarchs.

The Saturday match was the second straight on the road for PC in conference play as the Lions were unable to pick up a point in the match-up. 

Piedmont did see its #1 singles spot push once again with NATHAN METZGER winning the first set 6-4 over RJ Clement.  However, Clement rallied with a 6-1, 10-3 showing to hold the charging young Lion off for a decision at the top spot. 

With the loss, Piedmont drops to 2-3 in league action while the Monarchs stay perfect at now 5-0 in USA South play.

Turning Point
--Methodist coming out of doubles with a 3-0 lead was too much for the Lions to overcome in the road contest.

Standout Performances
--NATHAN METZGER pushed a top singles player again in league play taking RJ Clement to three before falling at the #1 singles slot.

Inside the Box Score
--The showing for Metzger was the second straight match that Nathan took the first set before falling in two straight as he did so to NC Wesleyan's Sebastian Sikh yesterday, 4-6, 6-1, 10-3.

News & Notes
--Methodist's win keeps the Monarchs undefeated in league action as one of two teams still unbeaten in the USA South with the pair set to face off on April 4.

Up Next
Piedmont will travel to Tennessee to face Maryville College on March 29 with a first serve set for 3:00 pm.
