COLUMBUS, Georgia - The Piedmont softball team took their final game of pool play in the NFCA Leadoff Classic over #10 ranked Central College this morning by the score of 2-1 and then defeated Willamette University 5-0 in the opening game of the Silver Bracket Round. The victories improve PC to 3-1 in the NFCA Leadoff Classic. 

Freshman Jordin Ellingson picked up her sixth win of the season over Central College for the Lady Lions going the distance while allowing only four hits and striking out six. Jamie Dennis led the offense going 2-3 with an RBI while Kristin Hamby chipped-in going 1-3 with a run scored.

In the opening round of the Silver Medal Bracket Piedmont was led by the tandem of Megan McClain and Megan Kesler who combined to go 4-7 with three runs batted in and a run scored. Brittney Head went the distance for her fifth win in shutout fashion.

Piedmont, now 10-1 overall will, will take on in-state rival Emory University in the semifinals tomorrow, March 10 starting at 10:00.
