DEMOREST, Georgia -- The Piedmont men's lacrosse team dropped their third straight at home on Saturday afternoon to Rhodes, 10-4.  The Lions held the lead at half time, but Rhodes took control in the second half, out scoring the Lions 9-2 in the final two periods to earn the victory.

The first two periods were scorless until Piedmont's SPENCER ORTIS broke the tie at the 12:32 mark in the second frame.  Piedmont would go up 2-0 on the Lynx by virtue of a NICK LEAF goal with less than two minutes to play in the second period.  Rhodes answered the Lions goal with 33 seconds left in the first half to go down 2-1 going into the break.

In the second half the Lynx offense would progress, scoring six unanswered goals in the third period to pull away from the Lions, 7-2.  The Lions would add two additional goals in the fourth period, but the Lynx managed to keep pressure on the Lions with three fourth period goals of their own.

The Lynx managed to outshoot the Lions 41-29 in route to the victory.  The Lynx Matt Vavrek and Cooper Robinson led all scorers with three goals a piece on the day.

NICK LEAF led Piedmont scorers with two goals in the contest.  Spencer Otis and SUMNER GANTZ also chipped in with one goal each.

Piedmont (3-3) will host St. John Fisher College on Tuesday at the Walker Athletic Complex in Demorest.  Game time is slated for 3 PM.
