Box Score
Demorest, GA - The Lions fell behind early to visiting Carthage College and couldn't overcome an offense that recorded 11 goals and 32 shots in the first half alone, dropping a 20-9 final in front of the home crowd.  The Red Men jumped out to a 6-0 lead and scored seven times in the second period to go into the break up 11-2.
Steve Blanchard scored an unassisted goal in the second to put Piedmont on the board, and assisted
Spencer Ortis just before the break.  The third quarter proved to be much like the second, as Carthage piled on the goals to stretch the lead far out of reach of Piedmont.
Max Rowse and Ortis both notched goals, but the men were trailing 18-4 going into the final period.  Ortis added his third and fourth tally in the final quarter before Blanchard and Rowse found the goal again in the final minutes.  Blanchard added three assists in the loss as Piedmont fell 20-9 as the final horn sounded.  Rowse ended with three goals on the night.
The Lions move to 4-5 on the season with their second consecutive loss, and play their final home match April 4 against Huntingdon College with a starting time of 4:00 pm.  Piedmont will then wrap up the season with two road games at Greensboro College and Berry College.
