Newport News, VA -- The Piedmont College softball team is headed to Newport News, VA as it was announced from the NCAA office that the Lady Lions will be participating in the eight-team regional at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA.  The seventh-seeded Lady Lions will square off against the second-seeded hosts on Thursday, May 13 at 4:00 at CNU's Captain's Park.

Piedmont earned the Great South Athletic Conference's automatic berth by virtue of winning the league's championship tournament last week in Montgomery, AL.  The NCAA appearance is the second for the PC softball team as the Lady Lions earned a spot in the Salem, VA regional in 2006.
