Montgomery, AL --
The Piedmont College softball team came from behind to grab a 2-1 victory over LaGrange College in its first Great South Athletic Conference tournament action this afternoon in Montgomery, AL.  The Lady Lions left six on base but scored two timely runs in the fifth inning to claim their sixth one run decision of the season.

LaGrange kicked off the scoring with a run in the top of the third inning to take an early lead.  Piedmont would respond only two innings later with two runs of its own to surge ahead of the Panthers.

After junior Raley White scored on a throwing error to tie the game at one a piece, freshman Amy Thompson would the put the Lady Lions ahead for good with an RBI single to score teammate #B.J. Cofer#.

Cofer also picked up the win on the mound for PC tossing a complete game, one score gem.  The junior struck out a pair while reaching the 20 wins in a season plateau for the first time in her career.

The win moves the Lady Lions to 27-10 overall and advances PC to a 2:00 showdown with the third seeded Huntingdon College on Saturday, May 1.
