Demorest, GA -- The Piedmont College softball team dropped a pair of Great South Athletic Conference games this evening at Walker Field to visiting Maryville College by the scores of 8-5 and 14-2. The Scots pounded out 25 hits, eight of which went for extra bases, en route to the doubleheader sweep.
In the opener MC jumped out with a single run in the top of the first. The Lady Lions quickly answered in the second with four runs on three hits.

Lindsay Drevlow capped the scoring with a two-run double.
The visitors added seven runs over the next three innings to take command 8-4. The Lady Lions rallied with a single run in the seventh as
Kellie Edmondson collected her fourth hit driving in pinch runner
Megan Thompson.
The nightcap saw PC score the first run in the second as
Raley White drove in
Leah Della Torre who led the inning off with a sharp single. After single runs were traded the visitors exploded for 13 runs on nine hits over the final three innings to complete the sweep.
Edmondson led the squad going 5-7 with a walk and an RBI while White notched three hits and a run scored. The Lady Lions slide to 8-12 overall and 2-4 in the GSAC.
The women will return to action on Monday, April 13th as they host conference member Wesleyan College at Walker Field starting at 5:00.
