Michelle Crandall led the offense for the Lady Lions going 4-6 with a pair of RBI's against LaGrange College.
LaGrange, GA -- The Piedmont College softball team traveled to LaGrange, GA this afternoon and dropped a pair of Great South Athletic Conference games to LaGrange College by the scores of 10-9 (8) and 8-4. After edging the Lady Lions in the opener the defending GSAC champions capitalized on six errors in the finale to take the series.

After taking a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the third inning Piedmont saw the lead evaporate as the home team answered with three runs on four hits. The Lady Lions responded with four runs in the fourth highlighted by Lindsay Drevlow two-run double and a Michelle Crandall two-run single.

The lead was short-lived as the home team rallied with three runs in the bottom of the inning to pull within one. The Lady Lions found themselves trailing in the seventh inning but tied the score as Raley White drove in Laura Puckett with a clutch RBI-single.

In the international tie-breaking extra inning Leah Della Torre drove in the go-ahead run with an RBI-single. The Panthers answered scoring the tying run on a double steal and plating the walk-off winner on a single to steal the one-run decision.

In the nightcap the Panthers took advantage of the visitors scoring eight runs, five unearned, on five hits. The Lady Lions tallied eight hits but stranded as many runners on base. The home team scored in four of the six innings, three of which were multiple runs.

The losses move PC to 10-14 overall and 4-6 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The Lady Lions will return home on Saturday, April 18th and host GSAC member Spelman College at Walker Field on Senior Day with first pitch scheduled for 1:00.
