In a non-conference doubleheader against Great South Athletic Conference host Wesleyan College, the Piedmont College softball team rolled to a pair of victories by the scores of 8-0 and 12-0. PC gave up only three hits and allowed only two runners to reach secon base in the doubleheader.
Meredith Ray took a perfect game into the fifth inning and allowed only one hit while striking out six en route to the victory. She improves her overall record to 13-1 on the season. Lindsay Drevlow tallied the victory in game two allowing only two hits while striking out a pair of hitters.
Offensively the Lady Lions notched 19 hits and capitilized on eight Wesleyan errors to score 20 runs. Emily Maxey continued her hot hitting by going 3-7 with six RBI's. Amanda Powell chipped-in with three hits Marissa Harding went 4-5 with two runs scored.
The victory moves Piedmont to 20-4 overall. The Lady Lions will be back in action again on Friday, April 7th as they compete in the NCCAA South Regional at Walker Field with first game action set to begin at 12:00.
