By scoring a combined 22 runs in two games the Piedmont College softball team overpowered visiting Wesleyan College this afternoon at Walker Field by the scores of 13-0 and 9-1. The victories move PC's Great South Athletic Conference winning streak to eight straight games.
Wesleyan was unable to get anything going offensively recording only three hits on the afternoon. The Lady Lions pounded out 23 hits in only eight combined innings due to the mercy rule.
Meredith Ray and Lindsay Drevlow were again dominate on the mound as both recorded victories. Mandy Fuston went 5-6 with two RBI's and Emily Maxey went 4-4 with three RBI's. At one stretch in the first game the Lady Lions tallied seven straight hits which led to eight runs.
The victories move PC to 13-3 overall and 8-0 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The Lady Lions will return to action again tomorrow, March 25th as they host GSAC foe Maryville College with first pitch slated for 1:00.
