In dominating fashion the Piedmont College softball team defeated visiting Great South Athletic Conference opponent Agnes Scott College this afternoon at Walker Field by the scores of 15-0 and 6-0. The Lady Lions pounded out 21 hits on the day and held their opponents to a mere five hits.
On the mound Meredith Ray continued her impressive pitching by throwing a complete-game allowing only one hit on 10 strikeouts and allowing only one runner past first base. In the second game Lindsay Drevlow threw six innings allowing only four hits and recording four strikeouts and zero walks.
Offensively PC exploded in game one for 15 runs on 14 hits including a nine-run second inning. Leading the way was Emily Maxey who went 2-2 with three RBI's and Mandy Fuston went 2-3 with a pair of RBI's. In game two May Alves went 2-3 with an RBI and Maxey added a 1-2 perfomrance with a stolen base.
The victory moves the Lady Lions to 11-3 overall and 6-0 in the Great South Athletic Conference. PC will return to action again on Thursday, March 23rd as they host GSAC opponent Wesleyan College at Walker Field with first pitch slated for 5:00.
