WHAT'S UP NEXT:
- Two events are due up for the cycling squads with some riders headed to Collegiate Track National Championships in Indy with others staying local to race in the Fool's Gold event in Dahlonega

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:
Hear from Cycling Coach Jame Carney on the team's performance following the event:

THE FROSTY TAKE:
- We kicked off the first mountain bike race of the school year with the TMU conference race. 19 of our riders competed due to its close proximity to Piedmont.
- The cross-country race was the first of the weekend. The 6-mile course was a very technical and challenging course. The rain the day before made the course very slick due to all the roots on the course. In our women's ½ race, after 2 laps, Morgan Stepehens placed 10th out of a stacked field of riders.
- Dual slalom was raced in the afternoon. Three of our riders qualified for their respective tournaments. Stephens was able to place 8th in the women's dual slalom after winning her first round and moving on to the second. Alex Onate raced very well and placed in the top third of the 60 rider men's field.
- Saturday morning was a bit faster paced with the short track xc. Grace Wilson raced well, finishing nine laps in 31 minutes. Pearson Bruhns raced 10 laps in about the same amount of time with each lap faster than his last.
- The final race of the weekend was downhill. The course is very challenging and very fun for true downhill riders. In the women's ½ Stephens was able to come away with 7th and Emma Frost finished 10th.
