Athletics Contact Timmy McCormack: Assistant Director of Athletics

Chad Hall Returns to Piedmont Athletic Communications Department

Demorest, Georgia - The Piedmont University Department of Athletics is welcoming back one of its own in Chad Hall who returns to campus in the Athletic Communications office for the Lions.

"Chad's experience here at Piedmont as well as his background in statistics and game day management made him a clear front runner in the hiring process,"  said Jamie Purdy, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.  "Chad has a good feel for our athletic department as a former student-athlete but also as a former student-worker who served many of the sports that he will be working with as he returns to Piedmont in a different role."

A Piedmont alum, Hall spent his own collegiate playing days as a member of the Lions' lacrosse program under Head Coach Tim Dunton getting off to a great start by helping the 2019 team to a USA South Conference Championship in his freshman season.

The former play-by-play announcer and color analyst for the Mane Event Broadcasting Network, Piedmont's video broadcasting channel for home athletic events, earned his undergraduate degree at Piedmont in Sports Communications and also picked up a second major in History during his time in Demorest.

Hall began his career in sports as a student worker at Piedmont in 2021 and continued until his graduation in December of 2023.  Hall then gained more experience in game day management and event coordination working with the Atlanta Braves in ballpark management and event operations.

"We are excited to add Chad to our athletic department after a few years away from Demorest," said Assistant AD Timmy McCormack who will oversee the athletic communications office once again. "With Eric Edmonson on board already and his background with our video broadcasting network, Chad's experience as an intern with Piedmont in the live statistics area as well as game day operations make this group one with diverse expertise that will provide a fantastic experience for the fans and student-athletes.

"Chad brings new perspective and ideas from his time with the Braves and also adds a unique element with his coaching experience as well that our staff will appreciate."

The combination of his educational background and professional experience made Hall the perfect choice to join the Athletic Communications department at Piedmont following the departure of former director Joseph Garwood who left in May to take over the same department at Piedmont's former conference colleague, USA South member Meredith College.

"I am excited for this opportunity to join such an amazing sports information staff that has shined in so many ways over the years," said Hall. "I am thrilled to be returning to Piedmont. It's been a goal of mine to return to Demorest in this role and continue to contribute to the department."

Hall begins his role with Piedmont's athletic communications office with the fall sports season just weeks away.
