ATLANTA, Ga.—The Piedmont softball team earned the No. 3 seed in the CCS Conference Tournament beginning on Thursday, April 29th. Teams will travel to Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala., for neutral site competition.

The Lions carried a top offense in the CCS throughout the season to a 24-14 record and a 12-8 record in conference play. Piedmont got off to hot start in conference play with back-to-back doubleheader sweeps over Asbury and Agnes Scott. 

Piedmont is set to face the No. 6 seeded Covenant Scots in the opening round of the tournament. In the regular season, Piedmont completed a doubleheader sweep over Covenant in the final home series of the year for the Lions. Both wins came with early offense, with the Lions scoring first in both contests.

The Lions closed the season on a four-game win streak and look to carry that momentum into the playoffs.

No. 1 Huntingdon earns the top seed once again with its strong play in the CCS. The Hawks earned national rankings as high as No. 8 this season, rolling into conference play with a team ERA of 2.14 and a team batting average of .330.

No pets except service animals are allowed in Choccolocco Park.
