DEMOREST, Ga. - The top-seeded Piedmont women's tennis team is looking to take back the title of CCS champions after falling to Asbury in the championship final last spring. A win this season would secure the Lions third tournament championship in four years, after sweeping the regular season conference title for seven consecutive seasons. The Lions' conference tournament run begins Friday morning in the semifinal round in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

REGULAR SEASON VS. COVENANT

Piedmont 6, Covenant 1 (3/28/26 at Piedmont)

Piedmont began the day with a clinical performance in doubles, with none of the three teams losing more than two games. The No. 3 team of Sarah Row and Brooklyn Bolch were first to clinch, winning 6-1.

Then, it was the sophomore duo of Caroline Morrison and Sarah Sanabia who ensured the 1-0 lead, winning 6-2 at No. 2. Completing the sweep, the No. 1 team of freshman Kaleigh Stallworth and Ella Kate Canaday delivered an impressive 6-2 win of their own at No. 1 to send the Lions into singles on a high note.

One day after she was honored for Senior Day, Jordan Ballard took her play up a notch, rolling to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 to make it 2-0 Lions.

Olivia Carpenter was next to clinch, closing out a 6-0, 6-2 triumph at No. 6, just moments before Canaday put the win on the board with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2.

From there, the Lions took two of the remaining three matches, as Hattie Sloyan finished next with 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4, followed by Morrison, who won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3.

While The Scots picked up a line to avoid the shutout at No. 1, the damage was done and Piedmont continued its undefeated run in the CCS.

REGULAR SEASON VS. HUNTINGDON

Piedmont 6, Huntingdon 1 (3/20/26 at Huntingdon)

Piedmont women's tennis stepped into conference play with a dominant 6-1 road win at Huntingdon in Montgomery, Alabama.

Although the match at No. 1 doubles was a battle until the end, the Lions scored decisive victories at No. 2 and No. 3 to take the doubles point. First, it was Brooklyn Bolch and Sarah Row rolling to a 6-1 win at No. 3 before Sarah Sanabia and Ella Kate Canaday made it 1-0 in favor of Piedmont with a 6-2 win at No. 2. While the Hawks ultimately prevailed in a tiebreak at No. 1, the damage was done and the Lions entered singles ahead.

With No. 1 through No. 4 singles taking the court first, Canaday delivered the most dominant performance of the day, not dropping a game in a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 3 to make it 2-0.

Fellow newcomer Hattie Sloyan dropped just two games in a 6-2, 6-0 win to put Piedmont a point away from clinching the match. No. 1 and No. 2 singles were hard-fought battles, but Piedmont cruised at No. 5 as Jordan Ballard won 6-3, 6-0 to deliver the clinch.

The No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches each saw split first and second sets. Kaleigh Stallworth won a dominant third set (6-2, 4-6, 6-0) to keep hope for the shutout alive. However, the Hawks were victorious in a marathon match at No. 2, winning 12-10 in a third set match tiebreak.

Closing out the festivities, Olivia Carpenter rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6 for the 6-1 final.
