ATLANTA—Piedmont softball freshman shortstop Anslee Saunchegraw has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
This is Saunchegraw's first CCS honor in her collegiate career.
Saunchegraw had an outstanding week for the Lions, going 14-24 at the plate.
Saucnhegraw slugged six home runs during the Diamond Classic, powering the Lions to four wins on the weekend.
She drove in 16 runs overall and delivered two multi-home run performances.
The Lions will return to Demorest on March 18 against Brevard, with game one set for 12 p.m.
