ATLANTA - For the second consecutive week, Piedmont's standout freshman shortstop
Anslee Saunchegraw has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South Rookie of the Week, released Monday afternoon.
The Covington, Georgia native continued her hitting onslaught, totaling seven hits in 12 at bats over four conference games.
Saunchegraw began the week with a 4-for-4 performance in a game one win at Agnes Scott, slugging her team-high eighth homer of the season. In total, she recorded three extra base hits and had two hits in the second game of the Agnes Scott doubleheader sweep.
This marks her third CCS weekly award, having won Player of the Week once and Rookie of the Week now twice in a row.
Up next, Saunchegraw and the Lions will host a pair of CCS conference doubleheaders this week, beginning with LaGrange this Thursday, April 2 at 12 and 2 p.m.
