ATLANTA - Piedmont softball was well represented in the Collegiate Conference of the South weekly awards, released Monday afternoon by the league office.
Piedmont took two of the three awards, with
Mandi Peretti earning CCS Player of the Week as
Anslee Saunchegraw was named CCS Rookie of the Week.

Peretti was a force at the plate for the Lions in a 4-0 week, recording multiple hits in all four games, including a three-hit performance in game two against Brevard. The Cumming, Georgia native batted .692 for the week (9-13) with three extra-base hits (two triples and a double). Overall, she added six runs scored, five RBI and was 2-for-2 on stolen base attempts. This marks Peretti's first CCS Player of the Week nod after being named CCS Rookie of the Week three times last season.
Anslee Saunchegraw, CCS Rookie of the Week
In her first action after her historic week led her to being named NFCA National Player of the Week, Saunchegraw picked up where she left off, earning her second career CCS weekly honor and first CCS Rookie of the Week award. The freshman shortstop from Covington, Georgia tallied three multi-hit games in four games, including a monster 3-for-4 performance in the team's conference-opening run rule win at Asbury in which she slugged her conference-leading seventh home run of the season.
Up next, the Lions will take to the road for another CCS doubleheader, battling Agnes Scott tomorrow at 3 and 5 p.m.
