FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Piedmont men's lacrosse freshman
Evan Bingham has been selected as the USA South Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week, announced Monday afternoon.
The Asheville, North Carolina native played a key role in a 2-0 week for the Lions as they improved to 2-1 in conference play.
Bingham's big breakout was on Wednesday, as he tallied a season-best five goals to lead a 24-3 onslaught for Piedmont at home against LaGrange.
He then backed the performance up with another solid day on Saturday, this time in an 18-5 road rout at Methodist. Bingham added two more goals and an assist in the team's second straight victory.
Up next, the Lions will be back in action with a non-conference road matchup against Oglethorpe on Wednesday, March 18 at 7 p.m.
