DEMOREST, Ga. - Piedmont men's lacrosse left no doubt in a 24-3 dominant victory over LaGrange on Wednesday night at the Walker Athletic Complex.
The victory marked Piedmont's first overall win, conference win and home win of the 2026 season.
The Lions blitzed the Panthers right from the start, jumping ahead in the opening minute and never looking back in a one-sided contest throughout.
Freshman
Evan Bingham had a breakout game, scoring a season-high five goals, the most by a Lion in any game so far this season. Overall, six Lions scored multiple goals, but the wealth was spread, as
Trenton Steeves,
Will Isley,
Nick Winter,
Josh Tamarkin and Eyler score two apiece.
15 different Lions found the back of the net on Wednesday, with
Camden Pearson,
Cole Carson and
Micah James finding their first career goals.
Four different goalies saw action for Piedmont, with each playing a quarter. The group was led by
Trey Tuggle, with two saves. Defensively, Piedmont tallied 16 individual caused turnovers, led by two each from
Colin Hackshaw and Carson.
After Eyler scored in the game's first minute, it set the tone for the rest of the contest, with Piedmont scoring 11 times in the opening quarter.
The Lions continued to pour it on in the second quarter, leading 13-0 before LaGrange cracked the scoreboard. Ultimately, Piedmont took a 19-2 lead into halftime before slowing down the offense in the second half.
Hackshaw's quick goal after collecting a ground ball off a save proved to be the exclamation mark on the victory, as the final remained at 24-3.
Up next, the Lions will go back on the road to battle Methodist in a USA South battle scheduled for this Saturday, March 14 at 1 p.m.
