DEMOREST, Ga. - Piedmont women's lacrosse remained undefeated in conference play in a dominant 23-3 victory over Pfeiffer on a beautiful Saturday in Demorest, Georgia.
It was a balanced attack from the Lions, with five players recording hat tricks in the game and five players recording multiple assists.
Piedmont led wire-to-wire, scoring a pair of goals in he first 30 seconds of the game and later delivering a third quarter onslaught to run away from the Falcons.
After delivering her first hat trick as a Lion in the team's last game at Huntingdon,
Kaitlyn Mulligan one upped that total, with four goals on Saturday to tie
Savannah Limehouse for the team lead. Limehouse also added a pair of assists to tie with
Laura Crone and
Carson Bezold for tops on the team in that category.
Crone did a little of everything, scoring three times and also adding three assists while Bezold found open teammates all day, recording a team-best five assists in the win.
Senior
Clara Welch continues to settle in, with a season-high five points (3 goals, 2 assists) in just her fourth game of the season.
Freshmen
Kim Lam and
Abby Waldrop added second half goals, each of them finding the back of the net for the second time this season.
The Lions set the tone early, as Bezold found Limehouse and Crone on back-to-back possessions to quickly make it a 2-0 Piedmont lead.
However, Pfeiffer's defense held tough in the next 10 minutes of game action before the Lions turned up the offense once again. Mulligan scored three times in a row to lead a second quarter surge as it was a 10-2 contest going to the break.
The second half was all Piedmont, as it scored nine times in the third quarter and quickly moved the margin to double digits as the defense was also stifling ,holding the Falcons to just one second half goal.
Up next, the Lions will have a week off from competition before battling N.C. Wesleyan on the road next Saturday, March 21 at 1 p.m.
TURNING POINT:
- Piedmont's two goals on its first two possessions set the tone for the day.
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Mulligan, Limehouse, Welch, Crone and
Lovette Choloh all delivered hat tricks on the day.
- Bezold tallied six points with a team-leading five assists.

Amanda Barrett led the team with six draw controls.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Piedmont held Pfeiffer to just 7-of-15 on clear attempts and forced 25 turnovers.
