ATLANTA - For the seventh time this season, Piedmont women's basketball freshman forward Kylie Watkins has been selected as the Collegiate Conference of the South Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

The Cleveland, Georgia native continued her stellar rookie season, contributing to a pair of Piedmont road wins in a busy week of action for the Lions.

 


Over four games, Watkins tallied 49 points to go with 30 rebounds, 13 assists, four blocks and three steals. 

In a road win against Agnes Scott to kick off the week, Watkins scored 14 points to go with seven rebounds and three assists. She then took charge in a key road win at LaGrange on Friday, scoring 17 points on a remarkable 7-of-8 shooting, with seven more rebounds to go with a pair of assists, steals and blocks. 

The next day, she scared a triple-double, with nine points, 10 rebounds and seven assists before also scoring nine points to conclude the week at Belhaven.

Up next, the Lions finally return home after a grueling road stretch, hosting Covenant this Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 5 p.m.
