Kylie Watkins, Gracie Deetz Earn Superlative Awards as Four From Women's Basketball Named CCS All-Conference

ATLANTA - The Collegiate Conference of the South announced its postseason women's basketball awards Tuesday evening, just ahead of the beginning of the 2026 CCS Tournament and the Lions were well represented.

Kylie Watkins put an exclamation point on a stellar debut campaign, earning Rookie of the Year and first team honors while Gracie Deetz was named Sixth Woman of the Year  and second team for her standout play off the bench. Additionally, Ava Hunter earned all-conference second team honors for the first time in her career while Alexandria Willis found a spot on the listing for the third straight season.

BY THE NUMBERS:
Points: 11.3 per game (1st on team)
Rebounds: 6.4 per game (2nd on team)
Assists: 3.0 per game (1st on team, t-3rd in CCS)
Steals: 2.1 per game (1st on team, t-4th in CCS)
In-Season CCS Recognition: 7x CCS Player of the Week
Of Note: Watkins was a dominant performer all season long for the Lions, placing either first or second on the team in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals. She cleaned up CCS honors on an almost weekly basis, earning a program-record seven CCS Rookie of the Week nods during the season. The Cleveland, Georgia native scored 20 or more points twice, including a critical stellar performance in a home win over Asbury, scoring 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting and 6-of-8 from long range in a victory that began a stretch where the Lions went 7-2 down the stretch to close the season out strong.

Ava Hunter, All-CCS Second Team

BY THE NUMBERS:
Points: 9.6 per game (3rd on team)
Blocks: 17 (3rd on team)
Of Note: Hunter was a steady presence in the frontcourt for the Lions throughout the year. However, her strongest performances came at the beginning and end of the campaign. Hunter scored a season-best 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting in a home win over Sewanee in November and then capped off the regular season by scoring 13 key points off the bench in a home win over Maryville, making all five free throws in the process.

Gracie Deetz, Sixth Woman of the Year, All-CCS Second Team

BY THE NUMBERS:
Points: 9.5 per game (4th on team)
Rebounds: 6.3 per game (3rd on team)
Blocks: 28 (2nd on team)
Double-Doubles: 4 (2nd on team)
Of Note: Deetz fulfilled multiple roles throughout the season but settled in as a key contributor off the bench down the stretch. She recorded four double-doubles on the season to rank second on the team, including double-doubles in two of the team's final three regular season games. Deetz closed out the regular season with a 15-point, 11-rebound performance in a home win over Maryville.

Alexandria Willis, All-CCS Second Team

BY THE NUMBERS:
Points: 10.7 per game (2nd on team)
Field Goal %: .560 (1st on CCS, 1st on team)
Rebounds: 7.6 per game (t-3rd in CCS, 1st on team)
Blocks: 40 (2nd in CCS, 1st on team)
Double-Doubles: 6 (1st on team)
Past All-Conference Recognition: CCS Rookie of the Year (2024); All-CCS Second Team 2x (2024, 2025)
Of Note: Willis was a dominant force in the frontcourt all season, recording a team-high six double-doubles. The junior from Dallas, Georgia ranked first in the CCS in field goal percentage, making nearly 60% of her field goal attempts. She also ranked in the top three in rebounding and was second in blocks with 40.
