NEED TO KNOW:
Score: Huntingdon 88, Piedmont 82
Records: Piedmont, 10-10 (1-6); Huntingdon 14-8 (7-2)

MONTGOMERY, Ala. —The Lions fell on Saturday evening to the Hawks of Huntingdon by a final score of 88-82.

The game was a tight contest for the majority of the game, as both squads shot hot in the opening half, with Dylan Patrick, Israel Hall, and Jackson Houston all scoring double digits. The only player with double digits at the end of the first half for the Hawks was Keyshawn Dickey, who carried 10 into halftime and would become a key player down the stretch.

Piedmont would capture the lead with 12 minutes left in the half and looked to keep the pressure; however, the Lions would be unable to contend with the impending Hawk surge. Dickey continued his solid night for Huntingdon as he scored 15 points alone in the second half, putting Piedmont in a tight spot to rally.

The Lions found 13 points in the final two minutes of the matchup, but the damage was done as they fell to the Hawks by a final of 88-82.

Several Lions had solid outings, including both Patrick and Hall, ending with 16 points apiece, with Fisher Darden putting together a 15-point performance. However, Piedmont was unable to find crucial stops to end the Hawks' run in the second half.

Piedmont will look to bounce back and finish their road trip strong against the Belhaven Blazers on Sunday, Feb. 8th, with tip-off set for 4:30 p.m.

TURNING POINT:
- A 15-6 run in the second half by the Hawks that created enough separation to secure the win.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Israel Hall and Dylan Patrick tied for the team lead in points with both finishing with 16.
- Fisher Darden put together yet another solid performance with his 15 points. Darden was a key part of the rallying effort for Piedmont, as 11 of his points were scored in the second half.
