WINCHESTER, Va. — The Piedmont baseball team picked up a big win over Oswego State with a 10-0 final score in eight innings.
Piedmont continues to be an offensive power early in the season as it picks up another run-rule victory.
Drew O'Neill got the ball to start for the Lions and shut down the Lakers in the top of the first.
Piedmont would waste no time in getting on the board and taking the lead as the bats got to work in the bottom of the first.
The Lions would walk the bases loaded setting the table for Carter Few. Few would bash a ball to right field for a grand slam giving the Lions all the runs they would need in the contest. Piedmont would bring home another run in the inning ending the frame with a 5-0 lead.
O'Neill with the lead would then go to work as the freshman turned in a lights out start for the Lions going eight shutout innings against the Lakers.
Piedmont would scatter four runs across the remaining innings leading up to the bottom of the eighth where Davin Miller would double home Cody Funk giving the Lions a run-rule victory on a walk-off double.
Piedmont's offense remains its calling card as they slug their way to victories.
