Piedmont Offense Soars Against Immaculata 19-6 in Winchester Finale

WINCHESTER, Va. — The Piedmont baseball team flexed its offensive muscles once again on Sunday with a 19-6 win in the last game of its weekend trip to Winchester, Virginia.

It was another day where the bats headlined the day for the Lions as they slugged in almost every inning.

Carter Few had another big day at the plate for Piedmont with five RBIs overall. The Lions jumped on top early with a three-run first inning. 

The Lions' lineup was ferocious as they continued their scoring onslaught against Immaculata. Piedmont would break the game open in the second inning as they put five runs on the board, punctuated by a Jack Ryan two-RBI single that brought the score to 8-0.

On the pitching side for Piedmont, Will Schmidt got the start and went four strong for the Lions, allowing just three runs and scattering six hits across his day. Overall the pitching staff would surrender six runs against Immaculata. 

Piedmont would continue to score throughout the game, eventually concluding with 19 runs on the day.

Piedmont won two of their three games in Virginia over the weekend, showcasing the offense in every facet.

The Lions will return home to Demorest for their next game to face off against Adrian College on March 4 at 6 p.m. 

TURNING POINT:
- The Lions' second inning, which proved to be the final separation against Immaculata.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Carter Few had another great day at the plate, with three hits and five RBIs on the day.
- Ben Connelly returned to the lineup with a productive day at the plate, bringing in three runners.
- Jack Ryan provided the big boost in the second inning and finished with three RBIs on the day.
