NEED TO KNOW:
Score: Berry 13. Piedmont 2
Records: Piedmont, 2-2; Berry, 3-2
MT. BERRY, Ga.— Piedmont women's lacrosse was unable to start the offense against Berry as the Vikings' defense held strong for a final score of 13-2.
The Vikings jumped on top early as their offense struck for six in the first quarter. Piedmont would struggle to find a foothold and stop the Berry onslaught as the Vikings continued to find the back of the net.
Lovette Choloh would get the Lions on the board in the second quarter with an unassisted goal. Piedmont would score again in the final seconds of the half via a bullet shot from Savannah Limehouse.
Piedmont would not be able to score for the remainder of the contest, as Berry's defense proved to be too strong.
The Vikings would close out the game with a final goal in the 4th, bringing the score to 13-2 and picking up a victory over the Lions.
The Lions' offense has run into back-to-back strong defenses early in the season as they suffer their second loss of the year.
Piedmont will look to regain footing on the road against Sewanee on Saturday, Feb. 28th, at 12:00 p.m.
