SEWANEE, Tenn. - Piedmont women's lacrosse fell 20-5 at undefeated Sewanee on Saturday afternoon in Sewanee, Tennessee.
The Lions stumbled at the start before recovering with a solid second half.
The Tigers jumped in front quickly, scoring 1:19 into the game before adding eight more goals in the opening quarter to lead 9-0 going into the second.
Sewanee added on with five more goals in the second quarter to lead 14-0 at the break.
However, Piedmont rallied in the second half, playing the Tigers even at 4-4 in the third quarter.
Laura Crone put Piedmont's first goal away early in the third quarter before
Lovette Choloh added one, while
Savannah Limehouse scored twice in a row late in the third quarter.
Limehouse then completed her hat trick, scoring the game's final goal with just over a minute to play.
Up next, Piedmont will return home for the first time in nearly a month, playing host to NAIA opponent Reinhardt this Wednesday, March 4 at 6 p.m.
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Limehouse tied her season high, with three goals while also adding a pair of assists. The junior had a hand in all five of Piedmont's goals for the game.
- Choloh added a season-best 10 draw controls.
