Men's Cross Country Tabbed Third in CCS Coaches Preseason Poll

ATLANTA - Piedmont men's cross country has been tabbed third, as the Collegiate Conference of the South Preseason Coaches Poll was released Thursday afternoon.

Coming off its first ever CCS Team Championship, Covenant has been picked to repeat, totaling 36 points and collecting six of the seven first-place votes.

In its second year in the league, Asbury finds itself in second place in the voting, with 29 points and the final first place tally.

The 2023 Team Champions, Piedmont is just a single point behind the Eagles, with 28 points in third place.

Maryville (21), Belhaven (16), Huntingdon (11) and LaGrange (6) round out the listing.

Piedmont is led in 2025 by three-time All-CCS honoree Layton Bradford, who was a key member of Piedmont's 2023 championship winning team.

Dr. Remel Williams was promoted in the summer to Director of Track & Field and Cross Country while Gary Halverson was hired as Head Cross Country coach in August.

The season begins next Friday, September 5 with the Converse Kickoff in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
