SEASON RECAP: Women's Golf 2024-25

• Piedmont women's golf ascended higher in the 2024-25 season, setting new team record and receiving votes in the WGCA National Poll.
• The Lions leapt over Methodist to take second place in the USA South Tournament.
• Erin Donovan repeated as the USA South Women's Golfer of the Year, a WGCA All-American and an All-Region performer.
• For the second straight season, Donovan also earned a spot in the NCAA DIII Women's Golf Championship as an individual qualifier.
• In the team's final regular season event of the spring, Piedmont took home the team title at the Greenbrier Women's Collegiate Invitational.

• Erin Donovan earned another record and another title on Monday with a 70 (-2) in the second round of the MCC Women's Intercollegiate to claim the individual title at -8 for the event. 
• Piedmont as a whole set the team-low score for 36-holes with a 610, besting their own previous mark that was set in the opening tournament of the 24-25 season (623).
• The Lions also tied the team-low score for a single round for the second time this season shooting a 300 to end the event in seventh place. 
• Donovan earned the Piedmont record for 36-holes in the process with her 136 (-8), besting the previous mark held by Katarina Hodge from the 2012-13 season. 
• Donovan birdied four holes in the second round and made eagle on 18 just before turning the corner. She dropped as low as nine under for the tournament and managed to finish one under on both the front and back nines.

• Erin Donovan continues to impress as she won the Chick-fil-a Invitational individual title by three strokes shooting a two-under 71 on Tuesday to conclude the tournament at three-under.
• Piedmont shot up the leader board as a team to end in fifth place overall and conclude the fall season. 
• Donovan was +1 through the first seven holes but made back-to-back birdies on the back nine to hit one-under and birdied 18 before the turn to hit two-under with six holes to go. She managed to hold that lead despite one bogey as she birdied the final hole of the day. 
• Sarah Fox had an excellent bounce-back day with a 79 as she carded 13 pars in the round to improve by 12 strokes on day two.

• The Piedmont women's golf team claimed the team title at the Greenbrier Intercollegiate Women's Invitational Tuesday winning in commanding fashion.
• Piedmont posted a 616 team score across two rounds to win by 21 strokes over Southern Virginia. 
• Erin Donovan finished -1 for the tournament making par on Tuesday to come in second overall. Donovan had a pair of birdies on the front nine to come in -2 at the turn but ended the day at even after three bogeys on the back. 
• Sarah Fox shot a 79 in the second round with a birdie on seven to finish eighth overall individually. Keegan Goins kept her third place finish individually shooting an 82 in round two, but her par round to begin the tournament helped her hold her position.
