WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. - The Piedmont women's golf team claimed the team title at the Greenbrier Intercollegiate Women's Invitational Tuesday winning in commanding fashion. Piedmont posted a 616 team score across two rounds to win by 21 strokes over Southern Virginia.
Erin Donovan finished -1 for the tournament making par on Tuesday to come in second overall. Donovan had a pair of birdies on the front nine to come in -2 at the turn but ended the day at even after three bogeys on the back.
Sarah Fox shot a 79 in the second round with a birdie on seven to finish eighth overall individually.
Keegan Goins kept her third place finish individually shooting an 82 in round two, but her par round to begin the tournament helped her hold her position.
All four Piedmont competitors finished inside the top-10 as
Abigail Evans shot a 79 to improve by two strokes in round two and come in ninth place.
Individually, Sydney Richards from Southern Virginia maintained her lead for the individual title shooting a 74 Tuesday.
Up next, the Lions will prepare for the USA South Conference Tournament which is slated to begin Monday, April 28.
