GREENWOOD, Ind. - Four Piedmont student athletes have earned At-Large CSC Academic All-District honors, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
Men's golf had one representative in sophomore
Doug Gugel while men's lacrossee saw three honored in
Mike Eisele,
Will Isley and
Luke Warren. All four earned Academic All-District honors for the first time in their careers.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes At-Large honorees in five divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, and the College Division.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
NCAA, NAIA and College Division Women's At-Large Academic All-America® First-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. The Men's At-Large Teams will be announced on Wednesday, July 9.
Doug Gugel | So. | Winter Springs, Fla.
In his first year of eligibility, Gugel collects CSC Academic All-District honors. The sophomore from Winter Springs, Florida earned a spot on the CCS All-Conference team for the second straight year and has been a member of the back-to-back CCS Men's Golf Tournament Champions, this season helping lead the Lions to an NCAA Tournament appearance.
Mike Eisele | Jr. | Alpharetta, Ga.
In his first season taking over as the primary goalie for Piedmont men's lacrosse, Eisele impressed from start-to-finish. He made 17 saves and earned the win in goal as Piedmont won a thrilling home opener against Berry to retain the Peach Cup. He also delivered a 15-save performance and allowed just three goals at home against Methodist to earn USA South Defensive Player of the Week. After the season, he earned a spot on the All-USA South First Team.
Will Isley | Jr. | Acworth, Ga.
Isley continued his steady improvement with a solid junior campaign for the Lions, scoring 19 goals and adding 12 assists. He earned All-USA South Second Team honors as a midfielder for the second straight season.
Luke Warren | So. | Buford, Ga.
The sophomore defenseman earned honors in his first season of eligibility. Warren helped anchor a solid Piedmont defense all season, making 14 starts and ranking third on the team with 10 caused turnovers.
