LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Piedmont men's tennis was unable to contain a tough Covenant team, falling 5-2 on Lookout Mountain, Georgia on Friday afternoon.

The Scots took the doubles point and then clinched the match with a solid performance in singles, winning 4-of-6 matches.

Doubles action saw Covenant score a quick win at No. 3 doubles, 6-1, and then take the point with a 6-2 victory at No. 1. Although Piedmont's strong No. 2 doubles team of Yannick Wassmer Navarro and Charles Parnell were victorious at No. 2, 6-4, it was for naught as the Scots were ahead 1-0 going to singles.

Singles action saw the Scots continue to hold the momentum, taking 4-of-6 first sets.

However, the Lions were able to put the next point of the match on the board, as Rohan Kavali cruised 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6.

Unfortunately, Covenant was able to bank straight set wins at No. 3 and No. 1 in quick succession, taking a 3-1 lead before clinching the match with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 5.

Bryce VanOrder was able to bank a win at No. 4 singles, grinding out a 6-3, 6-3 victory.

As the last match on court, Parnell battled back after dropping a decisive first set to prevail in a second set tiebreaker, but fell in the match-deciding 10-point breaker to conclude the match.

Up next, the Lions will be back in action tomorrow at Sewanee.
