Men's Basketball Cruises on Senior Day in 98-77 Win Over Warren Wilson

Records: Piedmont, 10-12 (2-7 CCS); Warren Wilson, 2-20

DEMOREST, Ga. - The Piedmont men's basketball team was victorious Saturday on Senior Day with a 98-77 win over Warren Wilson. The Lions cruised in the second half to make easy work of it and allow Head Coach Greg Neeley to give his seniors an early exit to applause inside Cave Arena.

Piedmont was in a battle early as Warren Wilson led by seven with 7:45 to play in the first half. That wake up call was enough to get the Lions in gear as a 13-0 run put Piedmont in front 33-27.

The Lions took a 42-39 lead into halftime, and came out with a bang in the second half. Piedmont's defense kept Warren Wilson off the board for over five minutes in the second half as the offense used an 18-0 run to create distance.

In that run, Jackson Houston asserted his dominance with a dunk and only continued to drop jaws with another posterizing dunk with less than 10:00 remaining. Israel Hall also got in on the fun with a dunk as the Cave Crazies were electrified and bringing the noise.

Piedmont saw 32 bench points from eight different players with 16 players seeing action Saturday.

Next, the Lions will be on the road at Covenant on Tuesday, February 11.

TURNING POINT:
- Piedmont used an 18-0 run early in the second half to put this one to bed.
