Score: Charleston Southern 93, Piedmont 81
Records: Piedmont, 3-1; Charleston Southern 5-3

CHARLESTON, S.C.— The Lions showed fight but ultimately fell to the Charleston Southern Buccaneers in exhibition play 93-81.

Charleston Southern would build a healthy lead against Piedmont with a 23-4 run out of the gate. Despite being down early, the Lions found some success within the first half. Fisher Darden, Israel Hall and Parker Renault all had good first halves that kept Piedmont at a respectable pace for the start of the game. With help from Silas Mulligan going up for two in the final seconds, the Lions would enter the locker room down just eight at 44-36.

Piedmont would strike first in the second half, but a quick response by the Buccaneers would separate them with a 19-5 run and keep the Lions at a healthy deficit for the rest of the way as they came away with a 93-81 victory.

Piedmont put 80+ points on the board for the fourth time this season as the offense continues to be a strength carried over from last season.

Hall, Darden and Renault all turned in great performances, as they each had 15+ points, with Hall leading the charge with 18. Israel Hall continues to be on a heater, as the junior has scored 17, 20 and 18 points in his past three games. Freshman Parker Renault also shined as he was second on the team in points with 16 and first in rebounds with seven. Senior Fisher Darden kept the game close in the first half and finished with a complete 15-point effort.

Next up, the Lions will return home to face off against the Brevard Tornadoes on Tuesday, Dec. the 2nd at 7:00 p.m.
