COLUMBUS, Ga. - Piedmont men's swimming broke two school records while competing at the Ga. Small Colleges Invitational. Â
Across the three-day event, the Lions were able to break two school records, highlighted by
Brady Bowman's performance in the 200 fly. The other saw the Lions break the school record for the 400 freestyle relay and finishing ninth in the event.
Brady Bowman's performance in the 200 butterfly landed him 16th in the event, but his time of 1:59.89 netted him a new school record in the race.
The Lions' relay team of
Baden Stewart,
Luke Borgmann,
Perry Westbrook and
Henry Rickman set a new Piedmont record with a final time of 3:14.32, finishing 8th overall in the race.Â
Piedmont also saw a 9th place finish in the 200 freestyle with a final time of 1:28.91.
In the 100 backstroke, the Lions saw
Reid Barnes finish 21st with a final time of 56.08,
Jake Kucera finish 23rd with a final time of 59.27 and
Jake Bellem placed 22nd with a final time of 57.91.
In the 400 medley, Piedmont placed 9th with a final time of 3:43.74.Jacob Bellem,
Ryan Smith,
Brady Bowman and
Luke Borgmann finished 9th with a final time of 1:40.06 in the medley relay.Â
Piedmont finished 9th in the 800 men's freestyle relay, with the team of Westbrook, Rickman, Yeager and Korb putting up a final time of 7:39.03.
This finishes the fall leg of the season for the Lions, as they finished with a 6-0 dual record.Â
The Lions will have a break from action until Jan. 18th for the senior recognition day against Warren Wilson.Â
