SALEM, VA. - The Piedmont men's & women's cross country team concluded the 2025 season with the NCAA Division III South Region Championships Saturday as Layton Bradford & Bella Caccamo led the Lions with his 35th and her 76th place finish. 

Bradford was coming off an individual title at the 2025 Men's Cross Country CCS Championship in Huntsville, Ala., and ran a 25:58.6 on Saturday. Even with no PR, Bradford still took home All-Region honors. 

 

Sophomore Brody Geckler, saving the best for last, came across the line 2nd for the men with a PR time of 27:21.1, placing 82nd. 

Junior Grady Sanders ran a 32:00.2, while sophomore Xander Wiley ran a PR time of 32:30.8. 

Juniors Keegan Ivey & Sammy Maddox rounded out the finishers for the men. Ivey ran a 32:50, while Maddox ran a 33:10. 

Bella Caccamo almost matched her time from the last race at Roanoke with a 25:07.9, finishing in 76th place. 

Freshmen Madison Worsham & Katie Payne had excellent results, finishing 2nd and 3rd for the Lady Lions. Worsham with a 27:00.7 and Payne with a 30:39.3.

Naomi Oti-Wapala & Eva Doyne, also freshmen, rounded out the finishers for the ladies. With Oti-Wapala finishing with a time of 34:04.9 and Doyne 39:52.2.
