DEMOREST, Ga. - The No. 5 seed Piedmont University men's soccer team travels to Lookout Mountain on Saturday to face the No. 1 seeded Covenant Scots for the CCS semifinals.
LAST TIME OUT:
The Lions secured their first playoff game since 2022 with an overtime victory over LaGrange. All-CCS First Team selection
Davis Knight scored the game's opening goal, and
Lyric Bratton sent in the game winner in overtime to eliminate the Panthers. The defense was strong, and the attack and pressure were constant for the Lions as they look to stay hot.
REGULAR SEASON v. THE PANTHERS:
Covenant 2, Piedmont 0 (10/1/25)
In their meeting in the regular season, the Scots shut out the Lions on the road while outshooting Piedmont 21-11.
Covenant's Fox Landgren played hero, scoring both goals, with one assisted by Tyler Johnson, putting the game away in the 86th minute.
Although the Lions only allowed seven shots on goal, the Scots were able to break through with two second-half goals to take the victory.

PIEDMONT NOTES:
- Piedmont is coming off of two strong victories against CCS opponents. The Lions took down the Blazers 4-2 in the regular season finale and battled the Panthers to a 2-1 overtime finish.
- Piedmont's calling card is their front line of
Colin Vogel,
Davis Knight, and
Mason Keith, as the attack is carried by their speed and their ability to outmaneuver their opponents. The three played a large part in pressuring the Panthers in the first round.
- Four separate Lions have scored three or more goals throughout the season.

Davis Knight leads the conference in shots and shots on goal and in goals with nine. Knight leads the conference in goals averaged with a .563 percentage.
COVENANT NOTES:
- Covenant finished their season with an 8-5-3 overall record and a 5-1 record in the CCS. The Scots dominated the conference this season, with their lone loss coming at the hands of Maryville, who finished the season as the second seed.
- The Scots defense was stout throughout the season, as they finished tied for second in goals allowed and goals allowed on average. - Jackson Bostrom leads the Scots in goals with seven and also leads in points with 16.
-The Scots sport five players that finished with three or more goals in the regular season.
- This will be the Scots' first action since the 25th of Oct., as they earned a first-round bye.
PIEDMONT PLAYERS TO WATCH:
- Forward
Colin Vogel is coming off a two-score game against Belhaven and several shots on goal against LaGrange.
- Forward
Davis Knight has been an offensive powerhouse this season for Piedmont. He leads the CCS in several categories, including leading the CCS in goals with nine.
- Forward
Mason Keith is having a strong sophomore season, as he currently sits fourth in assists in the CCS.
- Defender
Lyric Bratton has been given several starts down the stretch of this season and has provided solid defensive work as well as the game winner against the Panthers.
