FAIRBURN, Ga. – The Piedmont University men's & women's cross-country team competed at the Georgia Tech XC Invitational early Friday morning.
This was the Piedmont women's team's season debut for the 6K. Running a 26:29.84, senior
Bella Caccamo was the first Lion to cross the finish line placing 105th. Freshman
Madison Worsham followed closely behind Caccamo placing 110th with a time of 27:18.57. Freshman
Katie Payne was the next Lion to cross the finish line running 30:46.67 and placing 125th. Freshmen
Eva Doyne (41:39.03) and
Roseline Velasquez (47:31.32) rounded out the finishers for Piedmont.
For the men, senior
Layton Bradford finished 25th overall, running a 25:56.39. Sophomore
Brody Geckler and Junior
Grady Sanders were the next Lions to cross. Geckler placed 73rd with a time of 28:34.6 while Sanders placed 94th with a time of 30:38.71.
Rounding out the finishers, junior
Keegan Ivey (32:37.1) and then sophomore
Xander Wiley turned in a PR this weekend running a time of 35:09.9.
Up next, Piedmont travels to Salem, Virginia for the Roanoke Invitational on Saturday, October 18.
