WILMORE, Ky. - Piedmont volleyball was able to take a set off Huntingdon, but ultimately fell in pair of CCS matches on Saturday afternoon in Kentucky.

The Lions battled from down 2-0 against the Hawks, outlasting them in a grueling third set. Unfortunately, Huntingdon responded by winning the fourth set before Asbury won in straight sets to conclude the afternoon.

Match 1: Huntingdon 3, Piedmont 1

The Lions were unable to get much going in the first two sets against Huntingdon, falling by margins of 25-11 and 25-9.

However, Piedmont responded with a fantastic third set, rallying from down by scores of 13-8 and 16-12. It was a 6-1 that flipped the script, as the Lions found themselves ahead 21-18.

While the Hawks were able to stave off three set points, the Lions' Bailey Daughtery recorded a kill off an assist by Katie Hubbard to give Piedmont the third set by a 25-23 margin.

Huntingdon took control of the match back with a strong fourth set, holding off the Lions to prevent another comeback and close out the match.

Once again, libero Zoe Coelho was outstanding defensively, leading the Lions with 21 digs.

Continuing her momentum from the first match, Wingate added five more kills to give her 14 for the day.
