MARYVILLE, Tenn. - The Piedmont Lions men's basketball team fell Friday to CCS foe Maryville College 98-71. Maryville used a fast-paced start to build an early lead over the Lions, taking a 19-point lead going into halftime.
On the night, the Lions were paced by
Griffin Neville and
Bailey Wiseman who contributed 18 points each.
Dylan Patrick was the lone other Lion to reach double figures as he scored 13 points.
For the sixth time this season, the Lions shot over 85% from the free throw line going 19-of-22 Friday.
At the 3-point line, the Scots converted 15 while the Lions had just four 3-pointers in the contest. The Scots built the largest lead of the night on the final basket with a 3-pointer made with 37 seconds remaining.
Next, the Lions head to Asbury to complete the conference weekend on the road Saturday.
TURNING POINT:
- Maryville led wire-to-wire in this one building a 10-point lead in the first five minutes of the contest.
