MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Piedmont volleyball was unable to find its footing against a tough Transylvania squad on Friday afternoon, falling in a 3-0 sweep to the Pioneers.
Playing in its first of three matches at the Berry Invite, the Lions improved in each set, but it was not enough to push the match to a fourth set.
Transylvania held a 27-9 edge in kills for the contest and held a .359 hitting percentage over the three sets.
Only one Lion had more than one kill, as freshman
Bailey Daughtery had two. Fellow freshman
Natalie Adams-Mullis led the team with nine digs.
Up next, the Lions will play two more matches as the Berry Invite wraps up, beginning tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. against Averett before concluding the event against host school Berry at 3:30 p.m.
