Lions Blank Wildcats in Dominant Road Win

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Piedmont women's lacrosse team held the Wildcats of Randolph scoreless Friday afternoon as Piedmont went on to dominate the contest. It was all Lions on the scoring front, winning the game by a score of 21-0.

Straight from the jump, Piedmont set out to run away with the contest. The Lions scored 10 goals in the first period, with nine different players scoring and seven different players assisting. 

Junior Jaiden Ramatowski opened the scoring in the second as Piedmont poured in three more goals in the period.

With a 13-0 lead coming out of the half, the Lions added eight more goals before finishing the contest with a 21-0 win.

Up next, Piedmont has a quick turnaround as they remain in Virginia to take on USA South opponent, Southern Virginia, on Saturday. Start time is set for 2 p.m.

TURNING POINT:
-- Piedmont poured in 10 goals in the first period, starting the running-clock just before the period ended.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
-- Lovette Choloh led all scorers with 4 goals in the contest.
-- Ava Trankina and Maggi Spratlin both had 4 assists in the contest
-- Aly Reece and Carson Bezold both had 6 point games with 3 goals and 3 assists.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
-- Piedmont held the Wildcats to just 4 shots in the contest.
-- The Lions recorded 37 total shots in the contest.
-- 20 of the 21 Piedmont goals were assisted, with Lovette Choloh scoring the only unassisted goal of the game.
