FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Piedmont men's lacrosse saw yet another USA South weekly honor, as
Eric Fewell was announced as the conference's Defensive Player of the Week Monday afternoon as the Lions were in the process of dismantling Spalding 25-1.
Fewell earns the award for his performance in Piedmont's 16-7 home win over Muskingum last Thursday in which the junior from Peachtree City had a career-best five caused turnovers for the Lions.
This marks the first career weekly honor for Fewell, who is a two-time All-Conference selection as an anchor to the Piedmont defense.
His outstanding play this season has helped the Lions to a program-best 8-1 start to the season.
Up next, the Lions are set to open conference play with a big showdown against Southern Virginia this Saturday, March 16 at 1 p.m.
